Singing helps you bond with your baby!

Trumpet fanfare and drum roll please as we announce a new Mamas voices group for you to attend! Starting this week, the group will run a weekly free group in Levenshulme Baptist Church on Wednesday evening at 7pm. It is a group for pregnant Mums to meet and sing together learning songs that they can sing to their babies.

Fact, babies can hear inside the womb and the uterus is a very noisy place! Most of the structures required to pick up sound are formed by week 16 and they have a mature hearing sense by week 24 from then on, your baby can hear your heartbeat, eating breathing walking talking burping and digestive gurgling!

Research has shown that a baby’s brain is primed for mother’s voice. It doesn’t matter if you can sing or not, a mother’s voice is the most beautiful sound in the world for her baby! Here at Mamas’ Voices we are so passionate about the joys of singing in a friendly group and the therapeutic benefits it gives.

The new Levenshulme group is run by Delphine Evans who is pregnant with her first baby and is a Music teacher; together with Jo Watson the founder of Mamas’ voices and retired Midwife they will be running the free weekly evening group.

You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome do not be put off if you think you cannot sing , the truth is your baby loves the sound of your voice and hearing you sing with other Mums is so soothing to your baby !
